Extract PDF text rows into an Excel spreadsheet
Convert selectable PDF text rows to XLSX, then review column alignment in Excel.
How it works
- Open a PDF with selectable text; if it is a scan, run OCR and review the recognized numbers first.
- Export the XLSX file using the spreadsheet tool.
- Open it in Excel or another spreadsheet application and compare column alignment, totals, dates and identifiers with the source.
This is heuristic text extraction. Original tables, formulas, images and formatting are not faithfully reconstructed. Scans need OCR first.
When to use this tool
Recover text rows for cleanup in a spreadsheet. Request the original XLSX or CSV when possible; that preserves actual cells better than reverse-converting a PDF.
What to check before sharing
This is heuristic row extraction, not reliable table reconstruction. Merged cells, formulas and original formatting are not preserved. Leading zeros and decimal separators need manual verification.
Supported files
Heuristic extraction. Review column alignment; scans need OCR first.
Inputs: PDF. Performance depends on your device. Download important work before closing the browser; local storage is not a backup.
Troubleshooting
Will it preserve my table perfectly? No. PDFs do not reliably contain spreadsheet cell structure. Treat the output as a starting point and verify values and columns. Can I convert scanned invoices? Run OCR first, then verify the recognized text. Poor scans and complex tables can still require manual correction.

Do my documents leave my device?
Document processing runs in your browser. PDF Studio does not upload document files. Explicitly saved drafts and My files remain in this browser until deleted. Read aloud may use network-backed browser voices.
