Review empty scan sheets without losing faint content

A scan contains a truly empty page, a faint note and a pale scanned mark.

Follow these steps

  1. Open the PDF and run the page check.
  2. Read the reported candidate page numbers.
  3. Inspect candidates in Organize before deleting any page.

The document and the intended outcome

A scan contains a truly empty page, a faint note and a pale scanned mark. Use the result as a candidate list, inspect each page at high zoom, and retain anything with meaningful content.

Make this example work for your file

A scan may deliberately include a blank reverse side between sections. Decide whether those separators matter before deleting candidates. First inspect the next page so removing a blank does not disrupt a duplex print or front/back pairing.

Choose only the settings this case needs

Read the candidate page positions in the result. Decide which pages are genuinely unnecessary before the optional deletion step; keep the original download available.

When the example needs a different approach

Paper texture or scan noise can look like content. Remove a page manually only after inspecting it and confirming it is not needed for front/back pairing.

A checked example you can try

Empty page two is flagged; faint text and scan pages three and four are retained.

Check the result

This is a heuristic, not proof a page is empty. Small or faint marks can be missed, and scan noise can hide blank pages. No page is automatically deleted.

Keep the original. When this task produces a file, reopen the download in the application where you will use it and inspect the affected pages. An illustration explains the operation; it is not a recorded processing test.

Practical tips

  • Read the candidate page positions in the result. Decide which pages are genuinely unnecessary before the optional deletion step; keep the original download available.
  • Inspect the page at high zoom and deselect it from removal. Do not accept the detection result as proof that faint writing is absent.
  • Paper texture or scan noise can look like content. Remove a page manually only after inspecting it and confirming it is not needed for front/back pairing.

Questions

A faint page is listed as blank?

Inspect the page at high zoom and deselect it from removal. Do not accept the detection result as proof that faint writing is absent.

An apparently blank scan is not listed?

Paper texture or scan noise can look like content. Remove a page manually only after inspecting it and confirming it is not needed for front/back pairing.

Will it delete pages?

No. Review and remove candidates yourself in Organize.

Does this change the original?

No. An unchanged single PDF keeps its original bytes.
