Buddy’s illustration: PDF diagram → PNG image. Your document’s result depends on its content and settings.

Follow these steps

  1. Choose the supported source file or files from your device.
  2. Choose 72, 144 or 288 DPI according to your intended use.
  3. Export the ZIP and inspect the extracted PNG images.

What this tool actually does

PNG avoids lossy JPEG artifacts but can produce larger files. Its pixels preserve visible appearance rather than PDF text objects or interactive elements.

Choose the controls for your document

Choose resolution according to display or print needs. Higher pixel counts increase memory; test one page before rendering a large technical manual.

Before your first export

For a technical diagram, inspect fine grid lines and text at the intended display scale. PNG avoids JPEG-style block artefacts, but rendered pixels still have a finite resolution.

The PNG files are much larger than expected

Lossless image encoding can be expensive for detailed scans. Use a lower resolution or compare a suitable JPG/WebP output if size is the priority.

Check the result

PNG preserves rendered pixels, not editable PDF objects. High resolution may produce large files.

Keep the original. When this task produces a file, reopen the download in the application where you will use it and inspect the affected pages. An illustration explains the operation; it is not a recorded processing test.

Practical tips

  • Choose resolution according to display or print needs. Higher pixel counts increase memory; test one page before rendering a large technical manual.
  • Lossless image encoding can be expensive for detailed scans. Use a lower resolution or compare a suitable JPG/WebP output if size is the priority.
  • An exported page image has no PDF text layer. Keep the PDF when search, links or text selection are required.
