PDF sketch troubleshooting: scrolling, forms and export
Choose Scroll when navigating and handle fillable fields before exporting visible marks.
Open Sketch over PDF →Follow these steps
- Open one PDF in Sketch over PDF.
- Choose Pen or Highlight, ink colour and thickness. Draw on the page. Use Scroll to navigate without drawing.
- Use Previous or Next for another page. Undo, redo or clear marks on the current page.
- Press Download annotated PDF, then Download PDF on the result screen. Use Download this page PNG when you only need the current view.
A canvas for the document
Drawing controls sit above the paper so the canvas can use the available width. On a phone the compact toolbar scrolls horizontally. Pen and Highlight make marks; Scroll lets a touch gesture move through the workspace without adding a stroke.
Marks are stored separately for each source page while the tab remains open. Switching pages retains them. Undo and redo affect the current page, and Clear page removes that page’s marks. A no-change PDF export returns the original bytes.
Keep marks understandable
Choose a visible ink colour that contrasts with the source. Thin pen strokes work for short notes, while highlights use translucent broad strokes. Inspect the result at readable size and avoid obscuring a chart or required form value.
These marks are annotations in a reading copy. They do not replace original text and do not securely remove sensitive material. Use the dedicated Redact tool when permanent removal is required.

Can I erase a mistake?
Use Undo for the latest stroke or Clear page for all marks on the current page.
Why is touching the page drawing instead of scrolling?
Pen or Highlight is selected. Choose Scroll in the drawing toolbar.
Is drawing over a name a secure redaction?
No. Original content remains. Use Redact PDF for permanent content removal.
